Driving title deed delivery for redress, empowerment in Bonteheuwel

New homeowners in Bonteheuwel were celebrated today, 31 October 2023, as they received their title deeds. The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim, is heading renewed efforts to drive housing delivery and homeownership for some of Cape Town’s most vulnerable residents.
‘I’ve been appointed to help drive greater housing and homeownership delivery in Cape Town and our title deeds and homeownership drive is shifting to the highest gear over the weeks and months ahead.
‘It is my absolute honour to be able to join our 30 beneficiaries in Bonteheuwel in this new chapter of their lives. We are stepping up our efforts to empower beneficiaries with title deeds and homes and working across the metro to make sure we deliver as many opportunities as possible.
‘If you or a member of your family should have received a title deed, and haven’t yet, please approach us. We are ready to assist. All interested beneficiaries may contact the Human Settlements Directorate via the call centre or visit their nearest City Housing office for information or additional assistance,’ said Councillor Pophaim.
